Privacy
Capt stitches your screenshots on your device. Your screenshots are not uploaded to be stitched, read or stored.
The app
- Your screenshots. Capt reads screenshots from Photos and from the iCloud Drive folder you choose. Stitching, reading text to find details to cover, and tidying all happen on the device. The original screenshots are never changed.
- What you share. A finished image leaves Capt only when you share or save it yourself, and goes where you send it.
- Crash reports. When Capt crashes or hangs, Apple’s system hands the app a technical report on the next launch, and Capt sends it to our crash service. It contains where in the code the problem happened, the device model and the system version. It contains no images, no text from your screenshots and nothing that identifies you.
- Tidy decisions between devices. This is off until you set it up. When it is on, Capt sends which screenshots you kept or copied out, and when, against an identifier only your own devices can match to a photo. It sends no images and nothing about what a screenshot shows.
- Nothing else. The app has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
- TestFlight. Feedback and crash reports you choose to send through TestFlight reach us through Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy.
This site
- capt.page sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
- It counts visits. Each page load is counted on its own, so two visits cannot be joined together. What is counted: the page, which sections came into view, which controls were used, and a one-word label for how you arrived, such as search or social. Never anything you type.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and handles each request to serve it.
The waitlist
When you join, the waitlist keeps:
- your email address, and your first name if you give one
- the platforms you chose
- a short label for how you arrived: the tag on the link you followed, or the name of the site that sent you, never the full address
- the country your connection comes from, your browser’s time zone, and the browser’s own description of itself (its user agent)
- a last name, only if your address is plainly first.last and the first part matches the name you gave, so an email can greet you properly
It is used only to send launch mail and the TestFlight invite. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. To have your entry deleted, write to app@capt.page.
